Grilled Chicken Gyros

 


This recipe includes lots of shortcuts which makes it perfect for a quick and tasty weeknight dinner!  BTW, this is not an authentic gyro recipe but it works for us.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound chicken tenderloins
  • Greek seasoning (I use Cavender's)
  • Zesty Italian dressing
  • 1/2 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 roma tomato, sliced
  • 1/4 cup feta cheese
  • 1/4 red onion thin sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Tzatziki sauce
  • Pitas or Naan

Preparation:

  • Season chicken with Greek seasoning and add 1 cup of Italian dressing.  
  • Mix together well and let marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  • Grill chicken until cooked through, about 5 minutes per side.
  • Mix together cucumber. tomato, feta, onion, oil, and 2 teaspoons Greek seasoning.
  • Warm pitas / naan, add some of the salad, chicken, and top with Tzatziki.
