Sweet Tea


If you are from the South you should know how to make sweet tea.  It is a requirement.  We don't often have sweet tea in the fridge because of the sugar content but on all special occasions, it's ready to pour.

Ingredients:
3 tea bags
water
2 cups sugar
lemon slices

Preparation:
Fill a medium-sized pot with water and add tea bags and heat on medium-high.  As soon as it reaches a slow, easy boil and remove from heat and let it sit for 20-30 minutes.

In a gallon pitcher, add sugar.  Turn faucet water to hottest setting and add just enough to dissolve sugar when mixed.

Mix in tea and squeeze tea out of the tea bags.  Mix well and add more water to the gallon line on your pitcher. 

Sometimes I squeeze in half a lemon for flavor or serve with lemon slices.
