Foolproof Ribs
Ok, it's Game Day or the 4th of July or just your average Summer Saturday night and you want to make ribs. This can feel like an ambitious pro-cooking task, but fear not. This recipe for oven baked ribs, cooked low and slow, is an easy winner. First, you need a BBQ sauce that you love. We found Williamson Bros. BBQ sauce recently and love it on basically anything grilled. It's has the perfect sweet and spicy mix for us.
Ingredients:
2 medium sized racks of pork spare ribs or baby back ribs
1-2 bottles of your favorite BBQ sauce (we like Williamson Bros. original or Chipotle)
XL aluminum baking pan and aluminum foil (one long and wide enough to fit both racks of ribs)
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 275.
Pat ribs dry and place in XL pan. (You can season your ribs at this point if you are using a mild BBQ sauce but I don't because the one I use here is flavorful enough.)
Coat ribs in a layer of sauce.
Cover pan tightly with aluminum foil.
Let bake for 3 1/2 - 4 hours. Check ribs to see if tender, easy to cut, and almost falling off bone.
Remove from oven and drain any liquid from pan.
Coat ribs with another layer of sauce.
Set oven to high broil and return pan to oven.
Broil about 5 minutes until sauce is sticky but not burning. (watch carefully)
Remove from oven, let ribs cool about 15 minutes.
Slice and serve!
