Caramel Cocoa Brownie Sundaes
Who doesn't love a gooey brownie with caramel mixed in and ice cream on top? These brownies are made with cocoa powder so their flavor pairs perfectly with sweet caramel sauce. You can also leave out the caramel and instead add chocolate chips and nuts for a completely different brownie. Just don't forget the ice cream!
Ingredients:
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup all purpose flour
2 eggs
1 stick butter, melted
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tablespoons caramel sauce (store bought)
vanilla ice cream
Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 and spray a cake or brownie pan with baking spray.
Sift together flour and cocoa powder
Beat eggs well
Beat sugar, eggs, and melted butter on high for about 1 minute.
Add dry ingredients to the mixture and mix on low just until combined (don't over mix!)
Add batter to the prepared pan
Optional: Make a well in the middle and pour caramel into the well and use a knife to swirl it all around the batter.
Bake for 20-25 minutes for gooey brownies. Add additional 5-10 minutes for firmer brownies.
Let brownies cool, cut, and serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and caramel sauce on top.
