What Day Is It? GAME DAY!! Planning Game Day Spreads

Every Saturday morning from September to the first of the year your Father comes out of the bedroom asking the same question:  "What day is it?"  Kids' automatic response:  "Game Day".  Chatham prepares the list of the day's games and we each make our pics while my job is the Game Day (food) spread.  Game Day spreads, aka tailgating at home, can include homemade dishes as well as local pick ups.  Here's a list of a few planning tips to consider and a few spreads we've enjoyed.

Game Day Spread Planning Tips:
1.  There must be at least 1 sweet such as a pie, brownies, etc.
2.  There should be at least 1 "typical" Game Day dish like wings, nachos, a dip, finger sandwiches, or sliders.
3.  Let everyone pick something for the spread so that everyone is happy!
4.  Spreads usually feed us throughout the day and neighborhood kids too so plan for more than a typical meal.
5.  Lighten the load by identifying some key local places to order out from for some items.
6.  The spread should cover the table so plan on several different types of dishes.
7.  There are no calories on Game Day so enjoy the food and the football!
