Hamburger Steaks with Mushroom Gravy

This is one of my favorite go-to meals on a weeknight for y'all because it's all warm and homey, plus quick and easy.  It is always a crowd pleaser, especially for the boys.  It goes so well with either mashed potatoes or rice and green bean casserole.

Ingredients:
2 lbs lean ground beef
1/2 Vidalia onion sliced and then halved again
1 cup mushrooms rough chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
3 packets brown gravy mix

Preparation:
Shape beef into 8 patties
Add them to a pan and cook on medium high about 4-5 minutes per side
Remove patties to a plate.
If you used a really lean beef there shouldn't be much or any fat left in your pan.
Add a tablespoon of olive oil to pan over medium heat and saute onions and mushrooms to soften, about 4-5 minutes max.
In a large pot, add 3 packets of brown gravy mix plus the amount of water it calls for on the package. Whisk together and bring to a boil and simmer until it just starts to thicken.
Add beef patties and onion / mushroom mixture to the gravy.
Cover and simmer another 10-15 minutes on low.
