Simple Hushpuppies

Who doesn't love hushpuppies?  I think we actually prefer these over cornbread....shhhh don't tell though!  This recipe is so simple but the key to it is in the timing and in the addition of the melted butter!

Ingredients:
2 cups House of Autry Hushpuppy mix with onion
1 cup water
oil for frying

Preparation:
Mix water and hushpuppy mix
Heat 2 inches of oil in a pan
When oil is hot, spoon several oval shaped hushpuppies into oil (they will slide right off the spoon).
Use spoon to continue to flip them around until cooked through and browned all around (about 3 minutes total)
Use a slotted spoon to drain them and remove them to a paper towel lined plate.
Once they are all cooked, melt 1/2 stick of salted butter in the microwave and drizzle it overtop of the hushpuppies!
