Mashed Potatoes
Your father loves mashed potatoes. He could eat them every meal. Maddie isn't far behind him. Mashed potatoes are so simple to make and they make any meal feel like comfort food! You can lighten them up by using skim milk.
Ingredients:
1 bag baby red potatoes
3/4 cup whole milk or half & half
1/2 stick of butter
1/4 cup sour cream
several shakes of garlic powder
salt and pepper
Preparation:
Bring a big pot of water to a boil on high heat
Add potatoes and boil about 20-25 minutes (test with a fork to make sure they are very tender)
Drain potatoes and return to pot.
Add butter, sour cream, milk, salt, pepper, and garlic powder
Beat with a mixer until creamed together and mostly smooth
Taste test to see if you need more salt or garlic power or if it isn't smooth enough add another splash of milk and beat again.
